How to Control MacSweeper.
MineSweeper uses the same common
mouse controls as most implementations of Minesweeper you might be familiar with.
- Primary Mouse Click
(Left-Click on Double-Button Mouse)
- The primary mouse
button is used to reveal cells on the game board. If you click on an empty or
questioned cell, the cell will become revealed. If you click on a revealed cell and the
cell is surrounded by the correct number of flags, the surrounding empty cells will
be revealed. If you reveal a cell that contains a mine the game is lost. Cells that
are flagged as containing a mine cannot be revealed. You first have to unflag them
before being able to reveal them.
- Secondary Mouse Click
(Right-Click on Double-Button Mouse)
- The seconday mouse
button is used to flag a cell. By clicking on a cell repeatedly the state will
cycle between the available states. By default these are empty, flagged, and questioned,
but the availability of the questioned state can be changed in the
Preference menu. If your mouse has only one button
or you are using a trackpad use Ctrl-Primary-mouse-click instead.
MineSweeper's main window features
a status bar on the bottom that displays a mine counter (flagged/total) on the left, a message
field in the middle, and the game clock on the right (see screenshot below). Note that the mine counter only counts
the number of mines flagged by the player, not the number of correctly identified mines. In case the cheat option is switched on the number of used cheats is indicated in a field right of the clock. This field is not visible if the option is off.
